We started with one stubborn dachshund.
His name was Otto. He was seven, low to the ground, and increasingly unwilling to walk across our kitchen. We watched him pause at the edge of the tile like it was a river, then take the long way through the living room. It broke our hearts, and it was completely preventable.
Every sock we tried was too tight, too loose, or too loud — thick neoprene that felt more like a boot than a sock. We wanted something quiet and warm that a small dog wouldn't hate. So we made it, one prototype at a time, in a studio in Portland.
Grippy Paws is small on purpose. We hand-finish every pair, source our cotton from a mill we've visited, and ship in packaging you can compost. The goal is straightforward: give short-legged dogs their floor back.
